What is TuroCars?

TuroCars is Tanzania's premier peer-to-peer (P2P) car-sharing marketplace. We connect local car owners (Hosts) with people looking to rent a vehicle (Guests), offering a wider variety of cars at more competitive prices than traditional rental agencies.

  How does it work?

It’s simple! Hosts list their cars for free, and Guests browse the app or website to find the perfect ride. Once a booking is confirmed, the Guest and Host coordinate the pickup and return.

  Where is TuroCars available?

Currently, we are focusing on major hubs in Tanzania, including: Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Morogoro, Dodoma, Tanga, Mwanza and Zanzibar. We are constantly expanding to new regions!

  What do I need to rent a car?

• Be at least 21 years old (age requirements may vary for luxury vehicles).
• Possess a valid driver’s license (Tanzanian or a valid International Driving Permit).
• Have a verified TuroCars account.

  How do I pick up the car?

Many hosts offer flexible options:

• Pick up: You meet the host at their specified location.
• Delivery: Some hosts can deliver the car to your hotel, the airport, or a custom location for a small fee.

  What is the cancellation policy?

You can cancel your trip for a full refund up to 24 hours before your trip starts. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a small cancellation fee may apply.

  What happens if I have an accident or the car breaks down?

TuroCars provides 24/7 customer support and can assist with roadside assistance. We recommend checking the specific protection plan selected during your booking for coverage details.
